Junk. I love my Tymo auto curling iron- best hair product on the market imo. So I thought I’d try this neat looking tool- but it’s junk. The flat iron usage makes me want to hold the hot curler exterior part and the curling iron part makes a fold in your hair. Totally weird tool. Not for me- returning asap before I burn myself.

I’ve seen countless videos on social media touting this curling iron. I finally caved and bought it. Dumb!I have fine hair that is in a layered bob just above my shoulders. I currently use a 1” and a 1.25” iron and my hair tends to get pretty long over a couple months before I get it cut.I could not get this curling iron to hold onto my hair—not even my shoulder length hair on the sides and back. I realized it was a lot of money to spend on something that was going to frustrate me.I have a Lange Le Duo that functions in the same way, but it works on my hair. However, it’s getting pretty old. I figured I’d try this curling iron, but it just doesn’t work on my hair.I guess the hype is just that. It stinks to have fine hair sometimes!

Such high levels expectations and SO disappointing! As fancy as this curling iron is, the curls didn’t hold and it left my hair flat. This has never happened because my hair holds curl really well. Definitely not worth $100. Sending it back.

It left bumps and crimps in my hair and just wasn’t giving me soft waves I could twist and manipulate like a regular curling iron.It gets very hot and heats up in a matter of seconds, and when you’re short on time to get ready, this is a huge plus!The outside of the curling iron where you twist your hair around the barrel doesn’t get hot, it seems as though it relies on your hair heating up from putting it in the flat iron part, and then as you twist it, that making the curl shape.It just doesn’t work well for me as far as curling goes.It’s a fantastic flat iron though, especially girls with curly hair that need that high temp to get that sleek look.It also feels very luxurious and high end, well made, feels solid holding it, not overly heavy but not cheap and light.Perhaps there’s just a learning curve and this takes practice.

My thick hair struggled to curl even at the highest temp, despite choosing smaller pieces and using the cool shot at the end to hold the curl. There is a lot of technology in the design itself to open/close the bigger/smaller curl portion, but they missed the part on the plates evenly heating up and for the actual outside of the iron to heat up. You more or less are curling it with the straightener, but the outside metal does not heat up at all, which somewhat defeats the purpose. I would recommend one of the tymo hair straighteners instead, and just curling the ends. This is a big fancy gadget with big fancy ideas, but very poor execution.

She also feels the digital display is a very nice feature, as it is much easier to see than options on alternative curling irons. For some reason, she has not been able to curl her hair effectively with this product. It works great as a flat iron, but the curling results have been poor. The iron feels solid and appears to be of high quality. I was very impressed how versatile this was! As you can see in the video, you can go from 1.5 inch barrel to a 2 inch! Given the barrel size difference, you aren’t having to invest in a different tool for different size curls as well as when your design to chop your hair off or grow it out. This wouldn’t work for hair shorter than 8 inches. You can also straighten your hair. I have always loved TYMO hair products for their quality, sleek design, and versatility and this one is no different. In the video that loud noise you hear (and I turn off soon after) is the “airflow cooling” option.

I should preface this review with the fact that I am a licensed cosmetologist, so I have used quite a few different irons over the last 15 years and that may make me a bit harder to please.That said, the pros of this iron are that it eliminates the need for 3 separate tools. You have a flat iron, 1.5“ and 1.85“ curling iron all in one tool. I find the barrel expansion at the press of a button incredibly convenient compared to other models that require you to remove and change the barrel. This allows you to create dimensional curls of different sizes all in the same hair style with no wait time for a barrel to cool and change. I like the cooling fan feature that also makes the curl cool to the touch immediately so you can pin your curls up to hold and set until you are ready to drop them. The barrel heats up very quickly, and when used at the correct temperature, leaves hair silky and shiny.The cons- I find it trickier to get a good, defined curl than a traditional iron. If you are used to using a flat iron to curl you may find this product easier to use, but if you are used to a Marcel iron or a regular clamp iron, you may find yourself frustrated with the lack of tension when trying to curl. There is definitely a learning curve. One of the biggest flaws, I feel, of this iron is the cord length. This TYMO curling iron works basically the same way as curling your hair with a flat iron. If you struggle with that motion, this is not the hair tool for you.There are some upgrades to this vs just using a flat iron. The plates clamp together without having to grip it closed the whole time. So you open it with the finger lever like you open a curling iron clamp. Once you release, it holds the hair firmly between the plates and you twist and glide along the hair exactly like the way you curl with a flat iron. I didn‘t have any issues with pulling at all.The biggest bonus is the air flow technology on the outside that helps keep the whole barrel touchably cool and helps cool the hair a little too. Its actually amazing. I would recommend this for that feature alone. You can turn off the airflow if you don‘t like it for whatever reason.My sister and I used this the same day so we could compare technique and results . We both have long hair with different textures and it worked great for both of us. My sister struggled a bit with bumping the temperature lever as she worked. I think it‘s because she usually does “flat iron curls“ with her elbow up and the tip of the flat iron, or in this case curling iron, facing down. This is not the typical use, but its the only way she could do it since she‘s been doing her hair that way for forever. It worked, but I think that positioning is why she bumped the buttons a few times. I didn‘t have that issue, with the typical handle down, barrel up positioning.The overall weight is comfortable. Substantial, but light enough to work with easily. We tried the barrel size change. While it looks cool as it changes from one size to the other, we both preferred the smaller size.Overall, this is an excellent heated hair tool. Practice a little when you have time, and you will learn it right away. $100 is too much for any hair tool, and this tool is on sale for $80 now. This is an all in one, and I‘m really happy with it!I‘ll start with the few cons that I have:-Fan is very loud. Normal curling irons don‘t have noise but this has a noticeable fan that is rather loud. However, it serves a great purpose (See pros) and if you don‘t want the fan on, simply press the power button once quickly and it will turn the fan off but keep the heat on.-Initial power button is hard to click at first (It will loosen a bit over time I imagine)-Bit of a learning curve with curling hair as this can be used like a wand but is better used like a curling iron (I got kinks at first, but if you just slide it downward or do the spiral in video works well)Pros:-Straightener is excellent-Curling iron is excellent-SO great for travel as it‘s an all in one tool-No worry when touching the barrel about burning your fingers- great for younger kids to learn how to use because of this- If you have thicker hair or want looser waves, make the barrel larger easily with a click of a button- Curls last all day without damaging hair thanks to the fan (My hair gets very hot with regular curling irons/wands, and I had this at 280 or 300 degrees max and my hair felt only warm to the touch afterward.) This is a HUGE factor as it won‘t cause split ends or ruin your hair using this daily and long term!My hair is straight and does NOT hold curl well. I was so impressed that my curls stayed all day! They did get a bit relaxed by end of day but that is typical and without the hot damage I usually have to do to have my hair even curled.This is a fantastic all in one item that will last my daughters and I for years! Once you finally get the hang of it, the curls do look really pretty and they actually last, but it takes way too much trial and error for an everyday styling tool. It works fine as a basic straightener, but if you‘re buying it strictly for the curling feature, be prepared to spend some time practicing.

I freaking love this thing. I have a lot of thick, coarse hair and this let‘s me fly through it. I think people complaining of it crimping/creasing the hair just have the barrel facing the wrong way for the direction of the curl they‘re trying to do. User error for sure

As someone who has never been able to do a flat iron curl to save my soul, I was SO skeptical of this product. I’m in awe how easy and versatile this hair iron actually is. I have to be honest I’m not even quite sure how it works so well but it does. The how to video at the bottom of the Amazon product description with the woman wearing a black/purple dress (who kind of looks like Janis from Mean Girls 😂) helped me get the technique so fast. I need some practice with my non-dominant side, but I can see this being so quick with practice! I also used this as a flat iron and it made my hair so shiny (might still like my professional Chi flat iron slightly better but I feel like I’ll be grabbing this more because I can actually curl too).PROS:-heats up rapidly in 1-2 minutes-can switch from flat iron to curling with technique only. Flat iron: just clamp and use as a flat iron. Curling iron: clamp hair near root with clamp face out, twist away from your face until clamp is back in front and slide down hair. Instant curl.-one button press to change barrel size.-can turn air cool feature on and off-leaves hair shiny-Doesn’t get raging hot on the outside making it harder to accidentally burn yourself-cord is decent length (not professional tool length but not annoyingly short)-I had no issues with hitting buttons/settings during useCONS:-unless I missed it, there’s nothing to keep the curling iron from touching your countertop when put down. The outside of the iron luckily doesn’t get roaring hot but does steadily gain heat with use and takes a while to cool down after turning off. Makes me a little worried about damaging my countertop so it’s just annoying making sure to put a protector down just in case-the air cool feature is a little loud (but can be turned off and it’s a nice reminder the iron is on!)Overall, I thought this would be another gimmicky hair tool but it’s actually the real deal!

The Tymo 2-in-1 Hair Straightener Curler is an impressive tool that functions very well. The enclosed user manual provides the information you need to use the device. It does not skimp on written instructions forcing you to have to go online seeking for information that should have, but wasn’t, included. Particularly helpful for me was the section that explained which of its nine temperature settings you should use, based on your hair type.From the moment you take it out of the box and loosen its built-in Velcro cord holder, to powering it on and getting the temperature set correctly for your hair type, to discovering how natural it feels to use, it took an experience I was apprehensive about to a pleasant and fun experience.The apprehension was because I haven’t used an electric hair styling tool for years because of my hair type. My hair is fine, thin, and delicate with some natural curl. It tends to frizz in high humidity. As it has turned more salt and pepper in color, the texture has started to feel a little more coarse. Previous attempts to use styling tools has left it feeling more dry and looking more frizzy. I’ve felt like using the tool could damage my hair. And I was always worried about touching the wrong part of the device and getting burned.This tool, on the other hand, is actually fun for me to use. I set it to the lowest temperature setting, which is the one recommended for my hair type. It remembers what temperature was last set so I don’t have to reset it for every use. It only takes a few seconds to heat up, and I don’t even have to watch the LED indicators to see when it’s reached the correct temperature, because the fan automatically turns on. My hair releases easily when I press the clamp and slides off smoothly. And because it was designed not to heat the barrel, there’s no risk of burning myself. Even while using, the outside of the barrel doesn’t feel hot, just pleasantly warm. I was wishing, though, that the clamp had been designed to fan out at the bottom, so I could turn it over and prop it on my counter if I wanted to.After using it, my hair feels silky and smooth, with no coarse feeling and no frizz at all. At the push of a button, the barrel expands so you have a two-level choice in how curly your results are. With my hair length and texture I don’t like how my hair looks when it’s completely straight, so I haven’t even tried as a straightener but I can tell it would be an excellent tool for straightening hair. Between my hair’s length, texture, and especially because of the layers cut in it, even at the smaller barrel diameter I don’t get curls or even waves. I end up with what looks like a smooth bob-type of effect with my hair curving towards my face, and I’m surprised that I like it. It gives me a nice change when I want to switch out my look. I do have to use a finishing spray to keep the body and style a little longer, but needing to use a finishing spray to maintain body isn’t unusual for me. And I’ve found if my hair starts looking a little limp after a few hours – again not unusual for me - I can spritz my hair and crimp it up to get the body back and also a few waves – which gives me a different look and another style option. If it works this well for someone with my type hair, I can only imagine the great results you’d get with longer hair and a better hair texture.It was designed so well that it seems perfect, regardless of whether you’re an expert at styling your hair or a novice. To me it seems like it was made for professional use. It looks and feels solid without being heavy. The cord is a very generous length, which seems pretty rare these days for electronic devices. I even noticed that the cord is a decent diameter and not like some of the thinner and flatter cords being used more and more. The one-touch expansion of the barrel size works very smoothly. And I think it has a very classy look. The color is described as gold, but to me it’s more of a champagne, accented by a rosy-gold type control panel.With its very attractive appearance adding to the well-thought-out design and functionality, I would expect it to cost a lot more. I think it is very reasonably priced and well worth the money.

This iron works great for volumizing my thin and limp hair.I love that I can switch the barrel to really customize the look that I am going for,The cooling vents help hold my curls which in the past has been a difficult thing for my limp hair.This curler glides through my hair and the barrel never catches or pulls at my hair which is an added bonus.This curler is priced fairly, for 2 barrels and a curling system that actually works well for my hair.I recommend it, and its easy to use, and the tool itsel fis lightweight and doesn‘t cause hand fatigue for me.

I obtained this item for my wife and she has provided this feedback. She loves the recessed controls which prevent accidental switching when using the TYMO Dual-Size Airflow Curling Iron. She also feels the digital display is a very nice feature, as it is much easier to see than options on alternative curling irons. For some reason, she has not been able to curl her hair effectively with this product. It works great as a flat iron, but the curling results have been poor. The iron feels solid and appears to be of high quality. The weight and grip are very good with this product.If better curling results can be obtained through additional experience with this iron, I will update this review accordingly.

It glides through my hair effortlessly, leaves it incredibly smooth and silky, and creates soft, natural-looking waves with very little effort.What I love most is how easily it styles my hair without snagging or leaving it feeling dry. My hair stays soft, bouncy, and shiny after using it.I’ve bought and returned a lot of styling tools, but this one is definitely a keeper. Highly recommend!

Just received this , early morning a.m. delivery. I couldn‘t wait to try it so I plugged it in in the kitchen and could only use the reflection off the kitchen window, but I was shocked at how easy and perfect this worked! I ran upstairs to check them out in another mirror , and now I can‘t wait to style the rest of my hair. This is a game changer!

I’ve seen countless videos on social media touting this curling iron. I finally caved and bought it. Dumb!I have fine hair that is in a layered bob just above my shoulders. I currently use a 1” and a 1.25” iron and my hair tends to get pretty long over a couple months before I get it cut.I could not get this curling iron to hold onto my hair—not even my shoulder length hair on the sides and back. I realized it was a lot of money to spend on something that was going to frustrate me.I have a Lange Le Duo that functions in the same way, but it works on my hair. However, it’s getting pretty old. I figured I’d try this curling iron, but it just doesn’t work on my hair.I guess the hype is just that. It stinks to have fine hair sometimes!

It’s a great straightener but not as curler …… my hair won’t curl.

Such high levels expectations and SO disappointing! As fancy as this curling iron is, the curls didn’t hold and it left my hair flat. This has never happened because my hair holds curl really well. Definitely not worth $100. Sending it back.
